Barbara Rettig's Grandmothers Lace Cookies

Preheat oven 350
1 cup old fash. oats ( not quick)
1 stick melted unsalted butter ( not marg.)
1 1/2 teas. all purpose flour
1/4 teas. salt
1 egg beaten
1/2+ vanilla pure extract

Put the dry ingredients together and mix
pour hot melted butter over the dry ingredients
Beat in Egg and Vanilla ( you can use spoon or mixer)

***bake on parchment paper
put teaspoon full of batter 2 inches apart on cookie sheet
(use an actual measuring teaspoon)

usually 12 per large cookie sheet

Cook for 7 to 10 mins brown on the edges, better more done than not.
Pull the parchment paper off the sheet and cool on the counter and start the next batch.
You can make these cookies bigger just leave room for expansion.
a medium size cookie is ideal.
You want to achieve a lace look that is very thin
